Partner Body-Walking Series

Learning to give: Practice safely applying pressure to key muscle groups on a partner lying on the ground. Learn to prepare your partner for exercise or cool them down afterwards. We will discuss breath work to help you pay attention to the tension in your body while you are working.

Learning to receive: An emphasis on breath control and nervous system relaxation is taught to the partner receiving the work. This is a two-person system, and it is not just dependent on the partner giving the work. There is an active role in learning to relax.

Type of work: While this is called a “body-walking” class, we do more than “walk” on our partners. In addition to compression of muscle groups, we also teach some basic assisted stretching, light use of common acupressure points and more. While we follow a basic outline for our classes, we listen to the questions and goals of the day’s participants and adjust each class to best meet everyone’s needs.

Learn how to give and receive Partner Body-Walking. Starting from the feet, Chris Marco will guide you through the body up to the neck and shoulders, teaching the basic principles of how to work on another person. There are many styles and traditions of body-walking used around the world; this class will mainly focus on the Russian and Thai styles of body-walking. These sessions are split into 2 parts, separating focus on the front and back of the body. The first two sessions are not required but will help with a general knowledge before diving into our more complicated classes in September.

· Opening the Lungs 9/5/2026 – Abdominal Relaxation, Diaphragm Release, Neck, Shoulder & Face Relaxation

Learn gentle techniques to assist a partner with improving their breathing and encouraging nervous system relaxation. Starting from the abdomen, we will work to relax each of the muscle groups involved in the breathing process to help clear up any tension hindering the lungs. We will finish with some gentle lymphatic flushing of the head and face.

· Partner Stretching and Joint Mobilization 9/19/2026

Learn how to warm up or cool down your partner with gentle stretching techniques. Chris Marco will also provide tips for partners with size differences, hyperflexible partners, limited range-of-motion, or any other unique questions you may have. This is a class for all flexibility levels.

Never work beyond your personal scope of knowledge.
