Comp Team Trial Evaluation

Comp Team Trial Evaluation

Team TRC is designed for youth who are motivated to train, improve their skills, and take their climbing to the next level. Practices are structured through warm-ups, drills, strength training, and climbing workouts with a focus on long-term development and goal setting.

Throughout the year, training focuses on both rope climbing and bouldering, helping athletes build a well-rounded skill set.

To ensure the program is a good fit, all participants are required to complete a trial evaluation during a regular practice where coaches will assess attitude, effort, and climbing ability. Please note that admittance to this program is not guaranteed.

Please sign up for a trial evaluation below.

Pricing:

  • First Participant: $159/ month
  • Second Participant: $143/ month
  • Additional Participants: $119/ month
  • Billed on the first of the month
  • Team dues include a Triangle Rock Club Membership

Documents Needed for Trial Evaluation:

  • TRC Waiver
  • Orientation Document (signed after viewing the Orientation Video)
  • Documents must be completed by a parent or legal guardian on behalf of Participant

Additional Notes:

  • It is recommended to purchase gear, but it can be rented for $5 per item, per visit.
  • We recommend chatting with your climber before the trial evaluation so they know to come ready to work hard, stay focused, and have a great attitude
  • Trial evaluations tend to focus on bouldering as it helps coaches evaluate skills more easily

Consistent attendance and active participation are important. Athletes who miss two or more practices per month for unexcused reasons may be withdrawn from Team TRC. Withdrawn athletes may have the opportunity to rejoin the team at the start of a future season or after returning to the waitlist process.

Physical presence without active participation may be considered an absence. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Repeated phone usage
  • Wandering away from practice activities
  • Refusal to participate
  • Ongoing inattentiveness or disengagement

Excused Absences Include:

  • Illness, injury, or medical appointments
  • Family emergencies or family vacations
  • School-related academic obligations or events
  • Religious or cultural observances
  • Other circumstances approved by coaching staff

Unexcused Absences Include:

  • Participation in another sport’s practice or activity
  • Non-academic social or recreational activities
  • Failure to communicate an absence appropriately
  • Physical presence without meaningful participation

Coaches will address repeated attendance or participation concerns through conversations with the athlete and family. Continued concerns will impact team placement or participation status and may eventually result in withdrawal from Team TRC if deemed necessary by the Head Coach, Lead Coach, and Programs Manager.
